The Water Bottle Project

As part of The Oikos Project’s committment to exploring themes of sustainability, community, recycling, reuse and water, 164 large water-cooler bottles were sent to 20 schools across Southwark in the summer term and pupils are being asked to transform them into something else. The final water bottles are displayed around The Jellyfish Theatre.

The project is run by our partners at WebPlay and you can read their ebook, which tells you all about the project below.

“In The Dark”
In association with Resonance104.4fm, a night of stories told through sound. In The Dark is a collaborative project between radio producers and radio enthusiasts which aims to create a mini-revolution in the way we think about the art of spoken-word radio by lifting it out of its traditional settings and curating it in new and unusual ways. This month’s event is curated by Resonance104.4fm’s Ed Baxter. He has taken a liberal and lop-sided approach to the brief to included audio oddness, unnatural radio and unsettling soundscapes in one of London’s most unusual venues.”

Times: 20:00 until 22:00
Cost: Admission £5 on the door or book in advance at www.inthedarkradio.org

Resonance104.fm presents…
Resonance104.4fm presents a night of radical music borne from the members of the station. The night features a new composition for the Resonance Radio Orchestra. Written by by Fari Bradley, the composition is based on thoughts of the Shahnameh. Grandeur, war, passion, heroism, sacrifice. The Shahanameh preserved the Iranian language when it was in danger of being subsumed by Arabic as it was in every country around Iran then and now. It’s a book of historic importance.

The night also features Frank Key in a unique “Abba” themed collaboration with loopmeister Lepke B and a performance by electro-accoutic neo-primtives Oscillatorial Binnage.”

Times: 20:00 until 22:30
Cost: Admission £5
